Required Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree [Agriculture or Environmental Sciences related] and up to 3 years previous municipal-related experience, or post-secondary diploma [Agriculture or Environmental Sciences related] and up to 5 years previous municipal-related experience.
- Working level understanding of environmental protection legislation [ie. Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act, Water Act, Fisheries Act, Land Stewardship Act];
- Occupational Health & Safety legislation, regulation, code.
- Class 5/Drivers’ Abstract.
- Sound understanding of natural resource management issues within the local region.
- Demonstrated well developed oral, written and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with and develop community groups, including group facilitation, action planning and mediation skills.
- High level of project planning, project management, record keeping and report writing.
- The ability to build partnerships with government agencies, non-government agencies, community groups, landowners, education, and external consultants.
- Ability and willingness to be flexible on working hours to contact landowners and attend community group meetings; and,
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively with superiors, peers and other staff of the County.
Preferred Assets:
- Pesticide Applicators’ License [asset];
- Current First Aid/CPR Certification [asset];
Starting salary: $47.26/hour [Monday to Friday, 40 hrs/week]
