The Agriculture Programs Supervisor provides technical and field support for Clearwater County’s Weed and Pest Management program in alignment with legislated requirements and directives from Clearwater County’s Agriculture Services Board. This position works closely with landowners to assist with weed and pest management and ensure compliance through the implementation of the custom spray program, eradicable weed program, and crop disease and weed inspections. Acting in a supervisory capacity, this role assists in the recruitment, selection, training and mentorship of seasonal employees. In collaboration with the departmental director and supervisors, the Agriculture Programs Supervisor coordinates educational workshops and events. They prepare reports outlining program developments and provide input towards operational budget planning. This role provides cover-off and assistance to other departmental staff and completes special projects as required.
Term: This is a temporary full-time position for a 12-month term with the possibility of extension up to 18 months based on operational needs and performance. To allow for proper training and onboarding the successful candidate is expected to start mid-October. The ideal candidate would be comfortable committing to the duration of the assignment with flexibility for potential extension.
