Seasonal full-time position is needed early May to end approx. mid-Sept.
Duties for the Spray Truck Operator include:
- -applying herbicides for weed and brush control on M.D. Roadsides and other properties using a Ford 550 truck with MidTech injection system, Pickup with skid mount sprayer, Polaris Ranger side by side with ATV mount sprayer or backpack
- roadside seeding
- other duties as required
Knowledge of weeds and crops would be an asset, as would experience with herbicide applications, excellent communication and documentation skills.
The Spray Truck Operator works cooperatively with the Agricultural Fieldman, Weed Inspectors and Mowing Crew to achieve roadside and other Municipal property weed control and to inspect private & public lands. Communication with landowners and occupants require professionalism and excellent public relations skills. A minimum Class 5 driver’s license is required; a driver’s abstract will be requested. The best candidate for this position is a person who holds or is capable of obtaining Authorized Assistant or Pesticide Applicator Certification.
Wage will depend on experience, but should be in the $19/hr range. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm – with an excellent opportunity for overtime.
For University/College students returning to school at the end of August or early September, if interested consider applying – end dates can be earlier if need be. The opportunity to return to these seasonal positions year after year is excellent.
